Yoga Teacher Apprenticeship

Your bridge from training——————————to teaching.

We’ve found that newly certified yoga teachers often enter the “real world” of teaching and realize that, although they learned so much during their 200-hour YTT, they simply aren’t immediately ready to teach!

So, we developed our apprenticeship program to help new teachers gain real-life teaching repetitions, building the muscle memory and confidence necessary to lead live studio classes.

Summer 2024 will be the 3rd cycle of our apprenticeship program. Five selected participants will have the opportunity to create connections, learn from our experienced team, and flourish in their role as the teacher.

What’s included in this program:

  • Six 2-hour guided sessions in an intimate, supportive format (see below for the schedule and curriculum).

  • Unlimited Muse membership throughout the 3-month program ($555 value).

  • Opportunities to assist and co-teach during Muse classes.

  • Mentorship from the experience team of Muse yoga teachers.

  • The possibility of teaching Muse community classes following program completion.

“This apprenticeship program was exactly what I needed to make the transition from YTT to teaching. Maggie does a really good job of meeting you where you're at, and helping you grow from there. Since completing this program, I'm way more confident in my sequencing skills and teaching voice.”

“Maggie and the Muse team have been so helpful in preparing me to teach my first yoga classes. The apprenticeship program at Muse helped fill the gap between the asana emphasis in a traditional 200 hour YTT and the practicalities of being in front of a room for 60 minutes. It was helpful to understand the gap between student and teacher, including how to set the tone of a room, how to represent a studio while also staying true to your own style of practice, and how to be simple and strategic in moving students throughout their practice. Feedback was not only constructive but encouraging and from a place of support and care. I am so grateful for this team and experience!”

About Us

Maggie, the owner of Muse, leads our apprenticeship program, but gets assistance from several Muse instructors along the way!

Maggie completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training (YTT) at Dana Hot Yoga in 2017 and taught at several different yoga studios in the Philadelphia region before opening Muse in 2021. Since her initial training, she has also obtained a prenatal yoga certification and advanced sequencing training (and as of 2024, she’s now a Certified Personal Trainer, too). These days she’s considered an “experienced registered yoga teacher” (E-RYT 200) by the Yoga Alliance which basically means she has taught many hours of yoga at this point in her career!

Her extensive and varied experience allows Maggie to share a unique perspective with the apprentices. From teaching in tiny studios to corporate offices — in settings varying from virtual to outdoor to studios — she’ll share lessons learned and help our participants accelerate the process that takes many new teachers years to complete.

If you’ve taken classes at Muse, you’ll (hopefully) have noticed that our studio provides opportunities for each instructor to explore their personal style and share their individuality, while also offering our clients classes that are consistent and reliable. This balance doesn’t just happen overnight — it’s the result of a lot of hard work and many lessons learned along the way — but it’s one of the cornerstones of our studio as well as the apprenticeship program. We’ll teach you how to be you while also delivering a solid class experience that clients will benefit from, return to, and thoroughly enjoy.

Our studio warmly welcomes people of all kinds–our culture is one of inclusion, compassion, community, and engagement. At Muse, members will feel pushed in a respectful way and feel like they can be themselves while also learning, growing, and experiencing new things.
